The Gronis Committee determined that there is no "integrity issue" with David Zini's appointment. In a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the committee stated that there was "a deviation from standard practice" in the meeting between Zini and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu where he was offered the position of Shin Bet chief without the IDF Chief of Staff's knowledge. "The claims that General Zini does not pass the 'integrity test' relate to his meeting with the Prime Minister where he was offered the position of Service chief and subsequent events, to statements allegedly made by him, about his upbringing, his close family members and the position of people who previously served as heads of the Service. We will briefly note certain matters in which there was a deviation from standard practice. In the described events, there is no deviation from 'integrity' by Zini," the letter states.
