European Union spokesperson Anouar El Anouni addressed the results of Israel's elections for the first time, stating that the organization 'looks forward to engaging with the next government on the basis of the long-standing relationship between the parties, commitment to democratic principles and shared values, as well as to further advance relations between the citizens of both sides.' The spokesperson further said that 'the European Union's approach will continue to be based on honest and open dialogue, with the aim of advancing bilateral cooperation, addressing all issues of concern and working together to promote regional stability and security, as well as to achieve a just and sustainable peace.'
