Israeli doctors discover how gut bacteria fight HIV

|
Gut bacteria change their function and lend a hand to the immune system under attack in HIV carriers. This is according to findings from a study published in the scientific journal Nature Microbiology, conducted by the married couple Prof. Eran Elinav and Prof. Hila Elinav. These discoveries could enable harnessing gut bacteria in a targeted manner to protect against infections that appear as a result of immune failure.
