Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar agreed with Colombia's incoming Foreign Minister Omar Bula Escobar on the full resumption of relations between the countries and the opening of Colombia's embassy in Jerusalem. Sa'ar and Escobar met in Washington and agreed, as stated, to restore relations between the countries to their full course immediately after the inauguration of Colombia's president-elect Abelardo de la Espriella on August 7. The two agreed on the full restoration of diplomatic and economic relations between the countries and the immediate and mutual appointment of ambassadors. In addition, the ministers agreed on the mutual cancellation of visa requirements between the countries.
