Roman Gofman officially assumed his position as head of the Mossad, following a ceremony held at the organization's headquarters with hundreds of guests in attendance. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered remarks and praised Gofman for his career path: "You had tremendous added value as my military secretary. You don't talk much, but when you do speak – it's right on target." He referred to Gofman's official appearance: "It's very nice to see you suddenly in a suit and tie," and declared that "as long as we are here – Iran and its neighbors will not have nuclear weapons." Gofman thanked the prime minister: "I am entering this position with humility and with a sense of mission. Prime Minister, I learned the secret of leadership from you."
