Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a lengthy response to a Haaretz investigation claiming he was warned ten days before the October 7 massacre by United Arab Emirates President Mohammed bin Zayed. Netanyahu wrote on X that he has instructed his lawyers to file a libel suit against the newspaper, journalist Shlomi Eldar and other parties. He denied the claims again, stating that "from the beginning of September until October 7, no conversation took place between the Prime Minister and the President of the United Arab Emirates. The Prime Minister's Office, the National Security Council and the Military Secretary thoroughly checked the PM's call log – and found no record of it." According to him, the claim that Egypt warned the PM of a possible attack is also false. It should be noted that a senior official in the House of Representatives, Michael McCaul, confirmed the warning that was revealed in Ynet and Yedioth Ahronoth, saying: "We know that Egypt warned the Israelis three days before that such an event could happen."
