The IDF has decided to permanently dismiss Maj. Gen. A., who served as deputy commander of the Gaza Division on October 7. According to the IDF Spokesperson, all relevant considerations regarding the officer were examined, including findings from investigations and assessments by professional authorities concerning failures in his performance in the period leading up to the October 7 events. Additionally, all his claims regarding the extent of his responsibility were weighed. Maj. Gen. A. may appeal the decision to IDF Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Eyal Zamir. At this stage, the officer's name has not yet been cleared for publication.
