Palestinian source to Reuters: Hamas agrees to US ceasefire proposal in Gaza

|
Hamas has agreed to the ceasefire proposal presented by U.S. President Donald Trump's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, a Palestinian source close to the terror organization told Reuters, though this is a different framework from what the American envoy previously presented. According to the source, the new proposal includes the release of 10 hostages - 5 each at the beginning and end of a 70-day ceasefire. The source told the news agency that negotiations would continue during the ceasefire to reach a permanent ceasefire based on American guarantees. Saudi network Al-Hadath also reported from a Hamas source that the organization agreed to the framework received from mediators, which reportedly includes the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners and a partial, gradual withdrawal from the Strip.
