Moshe Edery, co-owner of Cinema City and film producer, to light Independence Day torch

Minister Miri Regev, who is responsible for Independence Day ceremonies, announced to Moshe Edery, co-owner of Cinema City, film producer and recipient of the Israel Prize for lifetime achievement, that she has chosen him from among the public advisory committee's nominees to light a torch on Mount Herzl. Regev said: "Moshe Edery's life story embodies all the elements of a movie. The boy from Dimona who fell in love with the big screen and became, together with his beloved late brother Leon, one of the pillars of Israeli cinema. The films produced by the Edery brothers contributed greatly to shaping the face of Israeli society and brought Israeli cinema and the Hebrew language to major stages around the world."
