Anat Englerst, mother of kidnapped soldier Matan Englerst, presented her son Ophir's draft order during a Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee discussion, saying "he wants to be a combat soldier, but doesn't want to kill his brother in Gaza." She spoke about her son and kidnapped soldier Nimrod Cohen, telling the MKs that they "went out that morning to fight for the country when all of you failed. The IDF Chief of Staff is already saying that continuing operations endangers the hostages." She added that "Matan and Nimrod are barely surviving there, fighting, and you're talking here about draft-dodging laws."
