New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani responded to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying that "Netanyahu used his speech to repeat baseless lies designed to whitewash his genocide of Palestinians. No lie can change the fact that he bears an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court for war crimes and crimes against humanity." Netanyahu attacked the mayor at the UN: "Since you were elected to office, Jews have not felt safe in New York. Israel did not commit genocide. Israel prevented genocide. That's exactly what Mr. Mamdani would have done to us if we had not stopped them."
