In a joint statement by Opposition Leader Yair Lapid, "Israel Beitenu" Chairman Avigdor Lieberman, "Yashar!" Chairman Gadi Eisenkot and "The Democrats" Chairman Yair Golan, it was announced after their meeting that "it was agreed that the party leaders' forum will become a permanent forum, with the next meeting to be held immediately after Yom Kippur. The party leaders expect Naftali Bennett and Benny Gantz to join the upcoming meetings. It was also agreed that a professional body will be established to deal with the basic guidelines of the next government, the establishment of a constitution, universal service and maintaining the character of the State of Israel as a Jewish, democratic and Zionist state."
