Saudi TV channel 'Al-Hadath' reported from Iraqi sources that 'significant efforts' are being made to secure the release of Israeli captive Elizabeth Tsurkov from captivity in Iraq. According to the report, 'understandings were reached between Baghdad and Washington, following a secret visit by an Iraqi security official to the U.S. The efforts of Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani are aimed at easing international pressure. The proposal includes transferring Tsurkov to a neutral country before her release.' Tsurkov, 38, a Russian citizen who was residing in the U.S. for doctoral studies, was kidnapped in Baghdad on March 26, 2023.
