Romi Gonen at Nova site: 'When I'm here I know how close I came to not standing here'

|
Hamas captivity survivors Romi Gonen, Elkana Bohbot and Noa Argamani participated in the Friends of Israel Ambassadors Conference at the Nova memorial site in Re'im. For Argamani, this marks her first return to the site since her release from captivity. Gonen said at the event: "In October, I came with my best friend Gaya to celebrate life and dance, and in one second everything changed. Gaya was murdered. I will never forget the look in her eyes in the last moment of her life. I reached out my hand to check her pulse and then the terrorists shot me in the hand. Remembering Gaya for me is not a privilege - it's a duty. When I'm here I know how close I came to not standing here."
