Israel's Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon claimed at the Security Council that Hezbollah is responsible for the incidents in which UNIFIL forces were harmed, including one in which two members of the force were killed. Danon said in a special session held in the wake of the incidents that "in the incident that occurred yesterday near Bani Hayan, UNIFIL forces were harmed by Hezbollah explosives. Also in the incident near Adaisseh al-Qusayr, in which UNIFIL soldiers were killed, the IDF did not fire at all near the outpost. Hezbollah is the one behind the incident."
