The Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court convicted Masam Samara, 39, from Tira, a caregiver at the WIZO Dubdevan daycare in Kfar Saba, of two counts of assault under aggravating circumstances of a three-year-old toddler. However, Samara will be sent for a pre-sentencing report to assess her suitability for community service instead of imprisonment. Samara worked at the daycare with children aged two to three. According to the indictment, in March 2024, Samara forcefully grabbed a toddler by his hair while he was lying in his bed and pulled it so hard that she lifted him up. Later, she grabbed him again by his arms, pulled him forcefully, stood him on his feet and then pushed him from behind until he fell to the ground.
