The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem has issued a security alert to its citizens in Israel, the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The warning stated that due to regional tensions, it "continues to emphasize to its staff and American citizens routine guidelines for maintaining personal security and preparedness, including checking recent security alerts and reconsidering travel plans in case of disruptions, and making decisions accordingly for themselves and their family members." The embassy noted that the mission's status, personnel and activities remain unchanged, and consular services continue as usual. The notice calls on citizens to ensure they have a valid American passport in case of short-notice travel, to be aware of their surroundings and follow instructions from local authorities. The U.S. Embassy in Qatar also advised its citizens in the country to "remain vigilant."
