An Egyptian source told the Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat that "negotiations in the Gaza Strip did not stop due to the killing of Khalil al-Hayya's son, and they will not stop." Regarding the meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the senior representative of the "Peace Council" in the Strip, Nikolai Mladenov, the source said that "the meeting was not successful, achieved no progress and was not good. Mladenov presented Netanyahu with a document containing two important points: granting permission for committee members to enter the Strip before Eid al-Adha, along with increasing aid entry." The meeting between Netanyahu and Nikolai Mladenov took place last Tuesday, and at its conclusion Mladenov said there was "a positive and in-depth discussion."
