Foreign Minister Gideon Saar met in Washington with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Saar said the meeting was "very good," and when asked by journalists "what is the plan for a Palestinian state," he replied that "there will not be one." The Foreign Ministry reported after the meeting that "Minister Saar thanked the Secretary of State for his steadfast support of Israel over the years, as well as for the clear support of the Trump administration for Israel. During the meeting, the two discussed various challenges and opportunities in the Middle East, including Iran following the unprecedented cooperation between the countries to remove the Iranian nuclear threat and the 'snapback' issue, the war against Hamas in Gaza and ahead of the UN General Assembly discussions next month."
