Malki and Liel Yahalomi, the mother and daughter who fled Israel, were arrested in Namibia in southwestern Africa on suspicion of possessing forged passports. Police were updated accordingly. In August, contact was lost with the two in Vienna, raising suspicion of a serious security incident. About a week later, they were located on a bus in Argentina and were released after questioning by an Israeli police representative in South America, who ruled out suspicion of criminal activity. Apparently, the background to their disappearance was financial distress they had fallen into.
