The sheriff of Kootenai County in northern Idaho, USA, Robert Norris, updated that according to preliminary investigation, the sniper who fatally shot two firefighters near the city of Coeur d'Alene likely acted alone. Norris confirmed that the shooter's body was located, and that "there is no threat to the community in the area." The sheriff also said that another firefighter was injured in the incident that occurred during the night, who is being treated in "serious but stable condition." According to him, "The motive for the shooting is not yet clear, but it was likely a planned ambush."
