In the shadow of the personal conclusions imposed by IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir on the commanders of October 7, Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that he has decided to task the Defense Ministry Inspector, Brig. Gen. (res.) Yair Wolensky, with thoroughly examining the "investigation of investigations" by the Turgeman Committee. According to him, "This includes the question of the need for additional investigations in areas that the IDF has not investigated in the past and which the Turgeman Committee also did not address, and the completion of investigations that the committee determined were not conducted properly and thoroughly." Additionally, "the inspector will be asked to formulate a recommendation for equitable criteria regarding personal conclusions. The conclusions will be submitted to me within 30 days. My position regarding preventing the promotion of those who served in the Southern Command on October 7 remains valid."
