The Privacy Protection Authority reported that sensitive information on approximately 21,000 special education students in the ultra-Orthodox district was leaked and determined that the Education Ministry violated the Privacy Protection Law and data security regulations. Supervisory findings revealed that in 2024, employees at the Education Ministry requested to create a digital form designed to streamline student placement procedures and created a file that included personal and sensitive information. The form was set with open access permissions, accessible to anyone who had a link to it. It was not password-protected and was open to anyone who had a link to it, for viewing and downloading.
