Opposition leader Yair Lapid harshly criticized the budget addition for ultra-Orthodox education approved by the coalition through a bypass mechanism: "There has never been anything like this in the history of the Knesset. Now in the plenum, the coalition added at the last minute hundreds of millions of shekels to the ultra-Orthodox parties beyond the budget framework. This is a miserable and disconnected band of thieves, looting Israeli citizens while they are in bomb shelters."
