IDF: Designated chief of staff to Iran's unelected leader eliminated in Tehran

The IDF Spokesperson officially announced that the designated chief of staff to Iran's regime leader, Abolghasem Babaian, was eliminated in Tehran yesterday. Babaian served as chief of the military office of the regime leader and head of staff of the regime's emergency command (Khatam al-Anbiya). According to the IDF, Babaian was responsible for coordinating between regime bodies to advance operations against Israel and activate the regime's emergency mechanisms. The IDF Spokesperson announced that Babaian was appointed as the designated chief of staff to the new leader who has not yet been elected, after Mohammad Shirazi, chief of the military office of former leader Ali Khamenei, was eliminated in the opening strike of the war.
