UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the Iranian attack on a US base in Qatar. His spokesman said the Secretary-General is "deeply concerned about the new escalation in the Middle East region." The spokesman added that "since the beginning of the crisis, the Secretary-General has repeatedly condemned any military action that has exacerbated the conflict, including today's attack by Iran on Qatari soil." Guterres also called on all parties to stop fighting and respect the UN Charter and international law.
