Appeal Denied: Dan Sharoni, Known as 'The Photographing Officer,' to Be Sent to Prison for 80 Months

|
The Military Court of Appeals rejected the appeal filed by Dan Sharoni, a former program commander at Training Base 6 known as "The Photographing Officer" who was convicted of 67 offenses of indecent acts and invasion of privacy, regarding both the conviction and the sentence. Alongside this, the court slightly delayed the date of Sharoni's demotion from lieutenant colonel to private in order to allow for an examination of the pension amount to be granted to him and his family. The decision states that Sharoni will be demoted to the rank of private three months after the verdict becomes final. Nearly two years ago, Sharoni was convicted of 67 offenses, including 23 counts of indecent acts and 39 counts of invasion of privacy and attempted indecent acts, conduct unbecoming and three counts of unauthorized access to computer material. Sharoni will be sent to prison for six years and eight months.
