The Mossad strategically deployed a non-Israeli team of agents who operated under immediate life threat. After five months of intensive work, dozens of kilometers from the border, they recovered the remains of Tank Corps serviceman Staff Sergeant Zvi Feldman, who fell in the Sultan Yacoub battle in June 1982 during the First Lebanon War. The IDF and Mossad worked together at the intelligence level and succeeded in locating Zacharia Baumel's grave in 2019. The efforts didn't stop there, shifting focus to locating Feldman and the third missing soldier, Yehuda Katz. A source familiar with the details added: 'When I saw Feldman's coveralls, I felt this was it - we were in the right place, even before the DNA test.'
