The IDF Manpower Directorate is currently compiling data on ultra-Orthodox enlistment since July of last year, and details that reached Ynet show a significant increase in the number of ultra-Orthodox individuals enlisting in the IDF - by more than 1,000 recruits per year. According to the data, before the war there were about 1,700 ultra-Orthodox recruits per year, in the first year of the war (until July 2024) about 2,200, last year (until July 2025) about 2,800 and in the past year already more than 4,000. According to military sources, one of the main reasons for this is enforcement and sanctions, which affect young men who are not studying Torah and encourage them to enlist.
