Pre-Election Trend Reversed: Shekel Weakens as Votes Are Counted

|
The dollar exchange rate stands at 3.08 shekels and the euro at 3.43. During Election Day, both foreign currencies weakened and the American currency reached an exchange rate of 3.02 shekels. But since the publication of the exit polls and especially from the moment actual results from the ballot boxes began arriving, the trend reversed. From yesterday's low, the dollar rose by about 2%, and it returned almost exactly to its representative rate on Monday, 3.078 shekels. The euro is also approaching its representative rate on that day, 3.4462 shekels.
