President Isaac Herzog spoke with the taxi driver who helped an elderly passenger escape from his vehicle during the deadly shooting attack at Ramot Junction in Jerusalem. Herzog thanked the driver, Yigal: "I am moved to speak with you, dear Yigal, you are truly an example of civilian heroism. I saw the video and said - get me Yigal!". The president added: "Well done, you are an exemplary citizen. I want to thank you, this is how you bring immense pride to the State of Israel". Yigal noted that "I don't see any heroism in this, I just think any taxi driver in such a situation must act this way. There was a passenger, an elderly woman about 85 years old, I had to rescue her."
