Degel HaTorah officially announces ouster of Gafni, Yaakov Asher to serve as party chairman

The homes of the leading rabbis of the Degel HaTorah party have decided to oust party chairman Moshe Gafni, who will be replaced by Yaakov Asher - who will also serve as chairman of the united party Yahadut HaTorah. The rabbis also decided to oust Knesset member Uri Maklev. Gafni, who was first elected to the Knesset in 1988 and served in it almost continuously until today, was also chairman of the Finance Committee for more than a decade.
