About ten residents from the Samaria area crossed the Syrian border in the southern Golan Heights in vehicles and advanced several meters, planted an Israeli flag and a sign, and were safely evacuated back to Israeli territory by an IDF force. Subsequently, the suspects were transferred to police investigation. The IDF stated that "this is a serious incident that constitutes a criminal offense and endangers the public and IDF forces."
