Families of hostages who were murdered or killed in captivity delivered a statement outside the Kirya in Tel Aviv, calling on IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi not to allow "actions that could harm hostages' lives or conceal the deceased; don't turn Operation Gideon's Chariots into the Hannibal Directive." Noam, daughter of Haim Peri whose body was recovered from Gaza, called on the Chief of Staff to stand up to the political echelon and make returning the hostages the highest priority. "Don't put IDF soldiers in a position where they endanger the hostages' fate," she said. Carmit Palty Katzir, sister of Elad Katzir who was murdered in captivity, said: "We are here as a living reminder that military pressure kills hostages and conceals the deceased."
