Hamas announced that it "rejects any proposal that plans to introduce foreign forces into the Gaza Strip, under any name and justification." According to the terrorist organization, "Governing Gaza after the cessation of hostilities is a purely Palestinian matter, agreed upon by the Palestinian people. There will be no guardianship or external figures in Gaza which violate the principles of freedom and self-determination."
