Baba Sali’s cloth trousers, Rabbi Yisrael Abuhatzeira’s prayer note on which Baba Sali bestowed a blessing, and the mezuzah from the home of the late leader of the Litvak community, Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, are all being offered at auction at Winner’s auction house.
Baba Sali a Jewish Moroccan sage, wore these cloth trousers for many years. They were given as a token of protection and success to his aide of 14 years, Eliyahu Alfasi. Also offered for sale is an old 10-shekel note on which Baba Sali pronounced a blessing.

The auction house said that the cloth trousers are “a personal object of holiness, as they were worn by Baba Sali on his pure body without any barrier, and are believed to bestow livelihood (the measure of basic sustenance), pairing, healing, and protection.”
Another item offered is the mezuzah from the home of the late Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, leader of the Ashkenazi ultra-Orthodox community. According to testimony from the rabbi’s son, Rabbi Kanievsky used to inspect this mezuzah twice every seven years.
