Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar expressed support for U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed Gaza plan, arguing that the territory cannot remain as it is.
“Gaza, in its previous form, has no future,” Sa’ar said in a speech to Knesset Wednesday. “A different solution must be found, and that is what President Trump is trying to do.”
He added that voluntary migration should not be dismissed as unethical, saying, “As long as emigration is voluntary and a country is willing to accept those individuals, it cannot be deemed immoral or inhumane.” Sa’ar described Gaza as a “failed experiment” under Egyptian rule, the Palestinian Authority and Hamas control.
