Approved in first reading: Extension of emergency order allowing IDF and Shin Bet to access private security cameras

|
The Knesset plenum approved in first reading the extension of the emergency order regarding the authorization of the Israel Defense Forces and the General Security Service to perform operations on computer material used to operate stationary cameras. The law allows access to private security cameras even without the consent of their owners. Knesset members supported the proposal, without opposition, and it will be forwarded for discussion in the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.
