Fires in north have caused double the damage to forests as the Second Lebanon War

Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael (KKL) reports that tens of thousands of dunams of natural forest have been burned following the latest Hezbollah barrages from Lebanon. Since the beginning of the war, according to a situation assessment, many forests in the north have suffered twice as much damage compared to the Second Lebanon War in 2006. About 1,200 dunams were burned in the forest around Rosh Hanikra area and about 200 dunams were burned in the Keren Naftali forest. Some 90% of the Naftali Mountain Ridge caught fire - about 8,000 dunams that burned in varying degrees.
