16 men filed complaints against rabbi from Meron: 'He created an image of a saint and gained their trust'

|
Sixteen men filed complaints against the rabbi from Meron who was arrested overnight on suspicion of committing serious sexual offenses. Ynet has learned that the complainants approached the special rabbinical court of Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu in recent months, as well as the Center for Victims of Cults. Some of them testified to police about the acts with the rabbinical court's accompaniment. According to sources involved in the details, the suspected rabbi created for himself an image of a "saint" and "righteous man," and thus gained the trust of people he allegedly harmed.
