Police submitted a prosecutor's statement ahead of filing an indictment against Yoel Richardson for the murder of a patient in the closed ward of Kfar Shaul Psychiatric Hospital in Jerusalem, where he was also hospitalized. The prosecutor's statement joins another indictment against Richardson for the murder of his mother, 73-year-old Sarah Richardson. According to police, the investigation revealed that Richardson learned to strangle people in a way that would mimic cardiac arrest – and hospital staff initially believed this was the cause of the victim's death. During his interrogation, Richardson told investigators that he had studied various martial arts methods as a hobby, as well as the structure of the human nervous system. He described in detail how he strangled the deceased to death in a bathroom stall at the hospital, while demonstrating proficiency in strangulation techniques.
