The Lod Central District Court sentenced Alexander Granovsky from Petah Tikva to 13 and a half years in prison after he was convicted of committing offenses against state security, following his contacts with an Iranian agent and carrying out security missions for him. Granovsky admitted to and was convicted of all the offenses attributed to him by the Central District Prosecutor's Office in the indictment, including contact with a foreign agent, passing information to the enemy, as well as multiple additional offenses of property defacement and arson. The Prosecutor's Office stated that the sentence imposed on him is the most severe among the sentences to date in a series of indictments filed by the prosecution against defendants who made contact with Iranian agents through social media and worked for them.
