Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar addressed the video of a soldier smashing a statue of Jesus in southern Lebanon. "The damage to a Christian religious symbol by an IDF soldier is severe and disgraceful," he said. "I commend the IDF for its statement, for condemning the incident, for the investigation underway on the matter and am convinced that the necessary severe measures will be taken against whoever committed this ugly deed. This shameful act is completely contrary to our values. We apologize for this incident and to every Christian whose feelings were hurt."
