14 Western countries, including Britain, Canada, France and Germany, condemned in a joint statement the cabinet's decision to establish 19 new settlements in Judea and Samaria. The statement called on Israel to reverse the decision and stop the expansion of settlements. The statement was also signed by Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Iceland, Japan, Malta, the Netherlands and Norway.
