Israeli police said that fighters from the Gidonim unit of Lahav 433, together with IDF troops, arrested an armed Islamic Jihad operative from Qalqilya early Friday as he was en route to carry out an attack.
According to the police, no Israeli forces were harmed during the arrest. During searches at the scene, authorities seized M16 rifles that had been intended for use by the cell. The Shin Bet is currently questioning additional suspects suspected of involvement in planning the attack.
