Guterres in letter to Netanyahu: Law banning UNRWA could be 'devastating'

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres addressed a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a day after the Knesset approved the legislation against the UN Palestinian refugee agency UNRWA, and wrote to him that the consequences could be "devastating." According to Guterres, "the laws could prevent UNRWA from continuing its vital work in the occupied Palestinian territory , which includes the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza, and cause devastating consequences for the Palestinian refugees, given that there is currently no realistic alternative that can provide the required services and assistance."
