Report: Israeli proposal offers 45-day ceasefire, staggered hostage release

Israel has offered Hamas a 45-day ceasefire in exchange for the phased release of 10 hostages, beginning with Israeli-American soldier Edan Alexander, Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese network Al Mayadeen reported Monday, claiming it obtained the Israeli proposal submitted to mediators and Hamas.
According to the report, five additional hostages would be released on the second day, followed by four more on the seventh. The proposal also reportedly stipulates that releases occur without public ceremonies or parades and includes a mechanism to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches civilians only.
Following the releases, humanitarian assistance would be allowed into Gaza and the IDF would redeploy within the enclave.
