Jerusalem will not hold fireworks displays on Independence Day

|
The Jerusalem Municipality has announced that it will not hold fireworks displays on Independence Day. The announcement stated that "in light of the ongoing Iron Swords war and the increasing number of casualties, Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion has decided that this year again there will be no fireworks displays as part of the city's Independence Day celebrations. The decision was made out of public sensitivity toward the wounded, disabled IDF soldiers and civilians who were injured during the fighting, as well as in light of the possible impact of the explosion noise on those affected by post-traumatic stress disorder."
