Justice Minister Yariv Levin and Supreme Court Chief Justice Esther Hayut met on Tuesday for their first work meeting since the former assumed office last month.
During the meeting, the two avoided discussing Levin's controversial judicial reform proposal which has stirred a political firestorm in recent weeks.
According to Israeli law, the two share oversight over the courts.
Hayut updated the minister on the needs of the judicial system, hirings required to ease court backlogs and a number of changes she made to facilitate public service.
