Two children were killed in a knife attack in northwest England, police said on Monday, adding they had arrested a 17-year-old male on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. Nine other children were injured, six of them critically and two adults are also in a critical condition. Merseyside Police said armed police had arrested the suspect and seized a knife after being called to reports of a stabbing at around 11.50 a.m. at an address in Southport, north of Liverpool. Police also said motivation for the incident was unclear but it was not being treated as terrorism-related and they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the stabbings.
